01 Day: Arrival Chennai
Meeting and assistance on arrival at the Chennai airport, our representative welcomes and escorts you by a private car and transfer to the hotel, whilst the room keys and check-in is organized, our representative would hand over the documents and brief the tour programme to you. Overnight at the hotel.
Chennai (Madras): the capital of the state of Tamil Nadu is the most convenient point of entry. Chennai has an international airport, a seaport and a rail and road network that links it to all major towns and cities of the region. Tamil Nadu is a bastion of Hinduism, whose past endures into the present. Temples with towering spires called gopurams are a common feature of this state, seldom seen anywhere else in the country. Temples in Tamil Nadu were the fulcrum of society and even today art forms that have their origin in religious worship continue to colour daily life. Notable among these are splendid bronzes of deities, painting on glass and Bharatnatyam, and an evocative dance form.
02 Day: Chennai
Chennai is the gateway of South India will put you in touch with a different phase of India - Classical, Ancient, Gentle. Chennai, the 4th largest city in India. Spread over 50 miles and features a large and beautiful waterfront on the Bay of Bengal. The British East India Company established its first trading post at Chennai, and in 1653 the company built Fort Saint George to protect its position. After breakfast, take a sightseeing tour of Chennai visiting Marina Beach, the second longest beach in the world. The St. George Fort, built in 1653, is currently used as the state government’s secretariat, Santhome Cathedral was built around 14th-15th century and is another colonial structure worth visiting. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the Kapaleeswara Temple is the oldest temple in Chennai. Another important temple in the city dedicated to Lord Krishna is Parthasarthy Temple. The Snake Park has a large collection of snakes and many other reptiles. Evening optionally you can visit flower and fruit market. Overnight at the hotel.
03 Day: Chennai – Port Blair (By Air)
After breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to the airport to board the morning flight from Chennai to Port Blair. On arrival, transfer to the resort. Later visit the Corbyn’s Cove Beach - 9 kms from Port Blair - a coconut palm fringed beach, ideal for swimming, sun-basking & bathing. Then proceed for a leisurely cruise (Harbour Cruise) in a steamer along the Port Blair Harbour - which takes one to Viper Island. The gallows atop a hillock here is sight to watch. Overnight at the resort.
Port Blair, the capital city of Andaman and Nicobar Island, is the largest city of the Union Territory as well and located on the east coast of south Andaman Island. The city is named after the Lieutenant Archibald Blair who established a colony here in the year 1789. Undoubtedly the city is one of the most beautiful places of this exotic island. Remarkable for its clean and serene beauty, Port Blair is visited by thousands of tourist from all over the world. This wonderful place is treasure house of marine life thriving on its wide starched coastal beaches. Known for famous beaches and eye catching vistas, this place is heaven for travellers.
04 Day: Port Blair – Coral Island – Port Blair (01 hr by ferry one way)
After breakfast for a full-day Excursion to North Bay (Coral Island) - to see coral reefs, exotic varieties of beautiful ornamental fishes and other marine life. The glass bottom boat ride helps one to take a closer look at the vast coral colonies. Optional Activities - Snorkeling, Swimming, Trekking. Overnight at the resort.
05 Day: Port Blair – Havelock (57 kms: 3 hrs By Ferry)
Early morning departure by inter – island ferry to Havelock Island. Stay here amongst sandy beach and lush green forest in a comfortable beach resort. Overnight at the resort.
06 Day: Havelock – Port Blair (57 kms: 3 hrs By Ferry)
After breakfast, check out of the resort and board the ferry to Port Blair. On arrival in the afternoon, transfer to the hotel. Evening is free for individual activities. Overnight at the resort.
07 Day: Port Blair
After breakfast, start for a full-day tour of places in & around Port Blair (City Tour) - covering the famous Cellular Jail, Saw Mill (one of the oldest & largest in Asia), Forest Museum, Mini Zoo, Anthropological Museum, Fisheries (Marine) Museum, Centre, Naval Marine Museum (Samudrika), Andaman Water Sports Complex (for water & adventure sports like water-skiing, boats, water scooters, tube rides, etc.) and the Cottage Industries Emporium (Sagarika) - for shopping & souvenirs. In the evening, attend the enthralling Sound and Light Show at Cellular Jail - where the heroic saga of the Indian freedom struggle is brought alive. Overnight at the resort.
08 Day: Port Blair – Ross Island (1/2 hr by ferry one way) – Chidiya Tapu – Port Blair (35 kms one way from Port Blair)
After breakfast, visit Ross Island - from where the Britishers' governed the entire A&N islands, prior to India’s Independence. This island is an ideal destination for nature walk amidst sylvan surroundings with deers, peacocks, exotic birds, etc. After lunch; visit Chidiya Tapu - about 31 kms from Port Blair - generally known as the “Bird Island" covered with lush green mangroves and beautiful beach with breath-taking s unset - all of which creates a mesmerizing environment. Optional Activities - Swimming, Trekking & Snorkeling. Overnight at the resort.
09 Day: Port Blair – Chennai (By Air) – Hometown (By Air)
After breakfast check out from the resort and drive to the airport to board the flight for Chennai. On arrival transfer to board the connecting flight for hometown. Tour concludes here with happy memories
